The 1st Historic Rally Pegasus made its debut as a new regularity event for historic vehicles – and naturally, we couldn't miss it. With the black Fiat Cinquecento S – also known as il Mostro – and my co-driver Kostas, we entered race mode, ready for our next challenge.

The rally was a one-day event, and at first, we admittedly underestimated it. After the two-day marathon of the 4th Historic Rally Tripolis, we assumed this one would be… easier. Or maybe not?

With five regularity stages and a unique twist in the fourth one, Pegasus proved to be a truly demanding rally – and at the same time, a valuable experience.

The Route: Technical, Beautiful, Full of Soul

The five stages took us through the landscapes of Corinthia and Argolis, combining technical demands with breathtaking natural beauty. We passed through remote villages that, despite their isolation, were full of life. The locals knew about the rally and welcomed us with enthusiasm – from courtyards, stone walls, and roadsides. This interaction gave a unique energy to every kilometer.

The route was mostly downhill, which benefited cars – especially those with smaller engines – and the temperature was ideal for racing: cool but stable.

The Challenge of the Day

Our goal was clear: to improve our performance compared to the previous event. Our calculations were more precise, il Mostro was more ready than ever, and our teamwork had begun to click.

Everything was going smoothly until the fourth stage – when things suddenly took an unexpected turn.

The roadbook described the stage as having two splits, but the phrasing wasn’t entirely clear to us. It threw us off, and for a few minutes we lost our rhythm. With the help of fellow competitors, who kindly explained the section we misunderstood, we managed to get back on track – with just one minor mistake.

There was also a small slip-up in navigation where we briefly went off course, but fortunately we spotted the error quickly and rejoined the correct route.

If you’d like to hear more about how we experienced this rally, I recorded a podcast covering all the key moments, lessons, and behind-the-scenes stories. You can find it on Spotify and YouTube.

What I Took Away from the 1st Historic Rally Pegasus

It may have been the first edition of the Historic Rally Pegasus, but it gave us experiences that will stay with us for future events. Every participation teaches us something – and Pegasus reminded us that nothing should ever be taken for granted.

My teamwork with Kostas improved even further, our strategy proved to be effective, and thanks to accurate timekeeping, we achieved a great result: only 3.37 penalty points.

From the organizers' side, professionalism, care, and love for the sport were evident in every detail. And the same goes for the community: drivers, co-drivers, and classic car enthusiasts who know how to honor the past and race with passion.
